No pet insurance provider can cover pre-existing conditions. Pre-existing conditions are health issues or conditions noted by you or your vet before your policy becomes active. But there’s good news! With Prudent Pet, this doesn’t mean these condition will never be covered in the future. An injury or illness that is cured and doesn’t show symptoms or require treatment for 180 days will no longer be regarded as pre-existing, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. If a knee or ligament condition occurs before the coverage effective date or during a waiting period, any future ones won’t be covered.

Expenses related to things like breeding, pregnancy, and aesthetic or cosmetic procedures are also not covered. For a full list of what’s not covered, see here.
