Will Your Pet Insurance Cover Shots & Vaccines?
When you choose to vaccinate your pet, you’re helping to protect them and others from infectious diseases that can spread to other animals and sometimes people. Some vaccinations like Rabies are also mandatory in most states.
What Vaccines Does Prudent Pet Cover for Dogs?
Our Basic Preventive add-on will cover $20 in reimbursement towards the DHLPP vaccine or titer testing and the Rabies or Lyme vaccine or titer. Titer testing helps estimate the immune response for particular viruses such as Rabies or Distemper/Parvo to determine if it is necessary to vaccinate. It can also be used to see if the dog has enough immunity towards the previously mentioned vaccines and to ensure they aren’t over-vaccinating.
The Prime Preventive add-on will cover $25 towards the previously mentioned vaccines and also provides coverage towards the Bordetella vaccine or titer. We do not cover Leptospirosis vaccines or Canine influenza vaccines. Learn more about our dog insurance coverage.
What Vaccines Does Prudent Pet Cover for Cats?
Basic Preventive care covers $20 towards the FVRCP vaccine or titer, Rabies, or FIP vaccine or titer. If you have the Prime coverage add-on, it will pay out $25 towards the previously mentioned vaccines and also towards the Bordetella vaccine or titer. The policy covers the core vaccines for a cat but does not have coverage towards the FELV vaccine. Explore our cat insurance coverage.
